Established in 1989 by Dundalk Institute of Technology, the Regional Development Centre has supported more than 1162 entrepreneurs, incubated 130 knowledge based start-up enterprises and conducted 238 applied research projects over those 25 years. As a major driver of economic development in the region the Regional Development Centre has secured €24.3m funding to date with impacts generated amounting to €38.9 million GVA per year.

The RDC are contributing to creating a vibrant, successful knowledge economy, through developing graduates who are entrepreneurial thinkers and doers, particularly from non-business disciplines.

The RDC provide direct access to hands-on intensive business support, networks and a business incubation environment for start-up and early stage companies.

Technology Transfer

The Technology Transfer Office at the RDC identifies, explores and facilitates commercial opportunities for the research conducted at DkIT, facilitates spin-out companies and applied research opportunities and industry partnerships with external organisations.
