Official Opening of Ion Channel Biotechnology Centre
Following the recent success in securing funding through Enterprise Ireland's Applied Research Enhancement Scheme, the Smooth Muscle Research Centre launched its Ion Channel Biotechnology Centre on January 19th 2010.
The ICBC at DkIT comprises a cross disciplinary research team that utilise the combined expertise of physiologists, pharmacologists, molecular biologists and organic chemists to identify novel targets and develop innovative potential treatments for two diseases - urinary incontinence and osteoarthritis.
