Rescuez emergency ID

Newly developed ‘Rescuez’ emergency ID

set to reduce medical errors for those suffering from

serious medical conditions and allergies

Irish founder now seeking crowdfunding boost to bring life saving product to market

Rescuez, a newly developed emergency identification device, invented and developed by a Dublin based entrepreneur, is set to be the answer to the myriad of serious identification issues that can arise during emergency situations such as A&E hospital admission.

Jan Bosch, who suffers from Type 2 Diabetes, came up with concept for Rescuez as an alternative to the cumbersome and unsightly ID bracelet that people with medical conditions currently wear. Bosch has now launched a crowdfunding drive to fund the next stage of product development and bring Rescuez to market.

The ability to correctly identify a person quickly in an emergency situation is essential for patient safety, as failure to do so has the potential to result in medication error, transfusion errors, and wrong person procedures. Once a person signs up for Rescuez, they input the details they deem relevant into the Rescuez database, such as allergies, existing medical conditions, family medical history and next of kin information. They are then sent the tiny Rescuez ID tags which can be fitted to multiple everyday items carried on your person, such as a mobile phone, keys or wallet.

If an emergency situation occurs, such as an individual collapsing on the street, medical emergency teams and health professionals can input the Rescuez ID number online and access all crucial medical details, ensuring the patient is treated quickly and effectively.

The Rescuez crowdfunding drive runs until 23 April and is seeking €9,000 in funds to get this lifesaving device off the ground. Donations start at just €5 per person. To find out more about the device and what your pledge can get you, go to www.rescuez.com.

Jan Bosch, founder of Rescuez, says: “The reality is that very few people with a medical condition wear the bulky and unattractive ID bracelet, meaning they are putting their lives at risk every time they walk out the door. Rescuez is a realistic and discreet alternative and I have launched this crowdfunding drive as we have huge belief in Rescuez and how it can transform health identification methods. There is no other product currently on the market like Rescuez and feedback from health professionals and members of the Garda Siochana has been extremely positive in terms of the real and measurable benefits that a service like Rescuez can bring.”

“There is huge potential to extend Rescuez’s functionality beyond the medical sphere. For example, Rescuez can also be used to identify children, giving valuable piece of mind to parents when their children are out and about. The ID can also be attached to any household item such as door keys and wallets, allowing the items to be returned quickly and easily to the owner.”
