Renewable Energy
The Centre for Renewable Energy at DkIT (CREDIT) was established in June 2002 with a mission to assist with Ireland’s coming transition to a renewable energy-based economy. CREDIT is in the process of becoming a national focal point for renewable energy research and development and academic programmes. In August 2005, CREDIT installed the world’s first large commercial turbine to be located on a college campus, and is projected to generate half of Dundalk IT’s electricity needs. Current Research CREDIT is involved in the following research and developmental projects:
