STORC
SToRC was established in 2000 by 5 members of the Department of Computing and Mathematics at DkIT. Research in the Centre has been strategically guided to focus on the areas of Software Processes; Distributed Systems; Human Computer Interaction (HCI); and Knowledge Engineering. SToRC is the only research centre based in an Institute of Technology to be involved in an SFI-funded consortium, namely the Irish Software Engineering Research Consortium (ISERC). Current Research SToRC’s main area of research activity is in software engineering with particular emphasis on software process improvement (SPI). There are a number of thematic areas currently under research including, software processes for SMEs, SPI in regulated industries, tailoring agile methodologies, the use of tacit knowledge in software teams, software quality in spreadsheet engineering, software measurement, mathematical modelling for stock control systems, requirements elicitation and management and soft systems methods. SToRC members have published widely in these areas over the last couple of years in peer-reviewed journals and at major international conferences. For more information visit here. |
