The Bright Ideas Programme was developed to meet demand from DkIT Students to help them start an enterprise and to evaluate their business ideas. The programme grew from the efforts of the DkIT Student Enterprise initiative which promotes enterprise and business ownership as a career option for students.

Bright Ideas challenges students to be creative and introduced techniques for opportunity recognition and for problem solving before focusing on the commercial feasibility of each of the participant business ideas. As an interactive programme it leads the students to develop their business idea thorugh to an 'elevator pitch' at the end of the programme where they present to a panle of judges in a 'Dragons Den' style environment.
